Moving out in faith part 2

So the story is, we found out we have to move and it seems we always have a trust issue with God.

We've been wanting a house that doesn't have wiring problems, lack of insulation in the walls, mold, leaky roof and walls, etc., etc., etc.

Our prayer has been that we could find a place and that it wouldn't cost too much and that Grandma would be taken care of, since she lives alone now, doesn't have a car anymore and has more trouble getting around them she used to.

Over the weekend we found out we would have to move and initially were told we had 30 days to do so.

First answer to prayer, Grandma is moving to her daughters.  Second answer to prayer we will get another house hopefully in better shape.

So now the reason for this series. We have no idea were we are going to find a place to live yet, at least not around here and not one we can afford. Which basically is nothing.

But when God says it is time to move, it's time to move. So we are looking for a place and when God shows us the right one He provide the means to pay for it as well.

Good news is, the official notice of eviction came today and we have 9 months before we have to be out of here.

Another answer to prayer. And so we move out in faith.

Moving out in faith Part 1

This is what our whole house looks like at the moment. This next series of blogs is going to be about what we are doing in faith and the process of moving forward with  God and all the lessons we are learning. Some of it will be hard, some easy.

Part of the time my blog may be a bit boring as I document the lists of things that need doing and the steps we are doing them in. Hopefully though, it may be a help to any who may be going through similar circumstances.

So here's my first list.

Upcoming blog posts:

1. Why this series
2. Background info
3. Lists of to do
4. Things we are learning

Some of these will be more then one part. And they may not come in that order. I may even throw in a blog or two about some of the places we've looked at as a reminder to myself.!

Anyway, forward we move in God. And trust His leading.

Lessons from cooking

Today I decided to try this recipe that I had found a few days ago that looked really neat.

Here it is for you to try if you want to.

slimpalate.com/cauliflower-tortillas-paleo-grain-free-gluten-free/

First of all, the recipe calls for eggs which I don't eat for various reasons. So I replaced them with the equivalent in ground flaxseed and water. 1 Tbs flax to 3 Tbs water for 1 egg. The second thing I did was I only eyeballed the cauliflower. I didn't measure it. Finally, I didn't read the recipe all the way through. I forgot that these were supposed to be tortillas, not just patties and of course it didn't work.

This is what happens when you don't read the directions.

So I went back and reread the directions. Since I had already mixed it up, modified what I had to come closer to the intended result. I added some gluten free flour and some more water.
Then I did baked them as I was supposed to do.

Here is the result. I haven't finished by frying them yet, but I will do that when I am ready to eat them.

As I was doing this, I was thinking, "That's what I get for not reading and following the directions."

The same thing happens in our spiritual lives. When we don't read and follow the directions (the Word of God) the consequences is chaos, ruin and death.

The Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:16, 17 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:    That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."

That means all of it. Not just part of it, but all of it. If we make excuses about God changing this or that, when God clearly says in another verse what He wants, then we aren't following the recipe.

The Bible was given for "instruction in righteousness", that we "may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." God has saved us, and given us the instruction book for living and walking in faith. Are we going to read and follow His recipe? Or are we going to do our own thing and make it the way we think it should be, when the only result will be ruin and death?

It's our choice. Let's make the right choice and follow God's recipe.
